I want share two conversations I had this week.
One was with a mom, quietly worried about her teenage daughter.
“She says she's not hungry … but she's exhausted, emotional, has a hard time focusing in school, and struggling in her sport.”
The other was with a friend in her mid 40s.
“I'm doing everything right. Eating less, training hard … but I feel tired, like I've lost joy, and my body isn't responding anymore.”
Two completely different people. Two completely different stages of life.
And yet… the root issue was the same.
➡️ Both of their bodies were asking for more and both were unintentionally giving it less. I can relate because I have also been on both sides of this story.
Puberty and perimenopause are two of the most demanding, dynamic phases a female body will ever go through.
And all of that requires one foundationalthing: Fuel!
But instead, what I see over and over again is this unintentional pattern of under-fueling.
Young girls begin to question their changing bodies…
Women begin to question theirs as it starts to change again…
And the instinct becomes the same: Eat less. Train harder. Control more.
But here's the truth that so many women (and girls) need to hear:
When your body is under-fueled, it doesn't thrive - it adapts to survive. Your metabolism slows to try to preserve fuel as your body feels like it's in survival mode. That's when we start to see:
What both a teenage girl and a woman in perimenopause truly need is the same:
✨ To feel safe fueling their body
✨ To trust that food is not the enemy
✨ To understand tha tnourishment is what allows their body to be strong and energetic - not shrink
Food is not something to fear or control. It's what supports energy, performance, hormones, and long-term health.
And in these two different phases of life especially…it's not about eating less.
It's about learning how to fuel smarter, more consistently, and with more intention.
If this hits close to home - whether you're navigating this yourself or supporting your daughter through it - you don't have to figure it out alone.
I'm here to help guide you through this season with clarity, compassion, and a plan that actually supports your body 💜
