I have always been passionate about health, fitness and nutrition. However, in today's society there is so much conflicting information, different opinions, fad diets and trends to follow that we become overwhelmed. This can sometimes create unhealthy habits, when we are trying so hard to live a healthy life. Through years of experimenting with the latest and greatest trends, fad diets and attempting to live a healthy life I found myself unbalanced and unhealthy. After having a baby, I decided to follow my passion for health, nutrition and fitness. I learned how to decipher all of the conflicting information and truly nourish my own body.
I studied to be a health and nutrition coach at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in NYC, where I became a Certified Health Coach recognized by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, best-selling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.
I further expanded my nutrition and fitness knowledge by becoming a Masters Sports Nutritionist and Certified Personal Trainer at the National Association of Sports Nutrition in San Diego, where I became proficient in exercise metabolism, body composition testing, metabolic evaluation, pre and post workout fueling and nutrition for recovery. I also discovered a love for reformer Pilates and completed the training to become an instructor.
Through hours of reading, research and certification through the Self Talk Institute, I have learned that your mindset and internal self talk play a vital role in whether or not you're successful in achieving your goals. I work with clients to help them shift negative self talk and limiting beliefs into a positive mindset in order to reach their full potential.
My coaching method is based on whole, natural food nutrition and bio-individuality. I understand that each clientis unique and has different goals that they want to reach. What works for one individual, may not work for another.
My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in sports and holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills, I work with clients to help them make simple lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
