Have you ever tried a new diet fad, maybe a 1000 calorie, low carb or sugar-free diet, only to be taken over by cravings? You feel totally restricted, deprived and exhausted?
I have fallen into this trap many times in the past. Can you relate to this scenario that I have experienced:
I committed to EAT CLEAN, stop eating all sugar (even artificial) and processed goods. I would stick to it for a few days, then the weekend would come! WEEKEND = FUN so I was left feeling deprived. Maybe I would have a cocktail or glass of wine (which I also tried to give up) and then it all goes out the door! Pretty soon I am standing in the kitchen bingeing. When I’m done with the food fest, I feel like crap physically & emotionally and go to bed.
The next morning I wake up in a food coma with feelings of guilt and shame. Why can’t I get stick to the plan? Well, I guess I can go workout and work off the calories I have eaten. This was a vicious cycle for me until I learned to FUEL my body proper nutrients.
